Why We Created the Italian Grape Wine Club: A Little Italy in Every Bottle
There's something that happens when you spend years visiting wineries.
You meet people. You hear their stories. You walk through their vineyards, sit around their kitchen tables, taste wines straight from barrels and occasionally discover a bottle that makes you stop and think:
Wow. More people really need to know about this wine!
And that's how the idea for the Grape Wine Club began.

Too Many Wonderful Wines, Not Enough Suitcase Space
At Grape Tours, we've been introducing visitors to the wonderful world of Italian wine since 2004.
We particularly love smaller wineries, where the person pouring your glass might also be the person who pruned the vines, harvested the grapes and made the wine.
These are the places that stay with you.
Over the years, my husband Pierre (who happens to be a French winemaker) and I have spent countless hours exploring vineyards, meeting producers and discovering wines that rarely make it onto the shelves of ordinary wine shops.
And some of our favourite discoveries haven't necessarily been the most famous or expensive wines. Quite the contrary!
Sometimes it's a tiny family winery tucked away in the Tuscan hills, where the winemaker insists you stay for lunch. Other times it's a grape variety you've barely heard of, grown in a remote corner of Italy, that completely surprises you.
These are the experiences that make us love what we do.
And over the years, we've often wished we could share more of these discoveries with our guests long after their Tuscan holiday was over.
After all, a great wine experience shouldn't have to end when you board your flight home.

So, How Does a Wine Make the Cut?
With thousands of Italian wineries to choose from, you might wonder how we decide which bottles deserve a place in our Wine Club.
Well, first of all, the wine has to be delicious!
But that's only the beginning.
We're looking for wines with personality, character and a real sense of place. Wines that tell us something about the land they come from and the people who make them.
We have a particular soft spot for independent, family-run wineries, especially those working thoughtfully with their vineyards and respecting the environment.
We also love discovering lesser-known grape varieties, interesting winemaking techniques and producers who aren't afraid to do things a little differently.
And of course, we want variety. After all, discovering Italian wine should be an adventure, not a repetition of the same familiar bottles.
Sometimes we know a producer for years before selecting one of their wines. Other times, a new discovery makes such an impression that we simply can't resist sharing it.
The important thing is that every bottle has earned its place.

Twelve Wines, Twelve Months
Our solution was to create one carefully chosen collection of 12 Italian wines every year.
Each wine is selected with a particular month in mind.
Perhaps a generous, comforting red for January. Something fresh and lively for spring. A delicious white or rosé for a warm summer evening. And some beautiful, structured reds for autumn and the festive season.
At least half of our selections come from our beloved Tuscany, naturally, but we also love exploring the incredible diversity of Italy's other wine regions.
From the volcanic slopes of Sicily to the mountains of northern Italy, there's an extraordinary world of wine waiting to be discovered.
The idea isn't to send you wines you've already seen everywhere.
It's to introduce you to wines with character, made by people who have something interesting to say.
And here's something else that makes our Wine Club a little different: you receive all 12 bottles together in one shipment.
No waiting around for monthly deliveries. Your entire Italian wine adventure arrives in one go!
We suggest a wine for each month, but you're free to enjoy them in whichever order you like.

And Then There's the Food!
Of course, we couldn't possibly create an Italian Wine Club without talking about food.
In Italy, wine and food are inseparable.
A glass of wine is rarely just a glass of wine. It's an excuse to sit down, share something delicious and enjoy a little time together.
So each bottle comes with its own Italian recipe, along with tasting notes, serving suggestions and stories about the winery.
Twelve wines. Twelve recipes. Twelve opportunities to invite friends over, try something new or simply make an ordinary evening a little more Italian.
And no, you don't need to be a professional chef. We certainly aren't expecting you to produce a five-course banquet every month!
Some recipes are wonderfully simple, others might inspire you to spend a little longer in the kitchen. The important thing is to have fun with them.
And if you decide to open the wine while you're cooking rather than waiting for dinner?
Well, that's practically an Italian tradition!

Imagine Opening Your Wine Club Box...
It's January. The holidays are over, winter has settled in, and suddenly a box filled with 12 wonderful Italian wines arrives at your doorstep.
Inside, there's a whole year of discoveries waiting for you.
Perhaps you start by reading about the winemaker behind your January bottle. You browse the accompanying recipe, decide what to cook and invite a couple of friends over.
A few months later, you're opening something completely different. Maybe a crisp white wine from a region you've never visited, paired with a summery Italian dish.
By autumn, you're discovering another producer, another grape variety and another little corner of Italy.
And along the way, perhaps you'll find a new favourite wine, learn something surprising or simply enjoy a few really lovely evenings around the table.
That's exactly what we hope the Grape Wine Club will bring you.

A Little Piece of Italy, Wherever You Are
What we really hope to share through the Wine Club is something of the feeling we get when visiting these wineries.
The hospitality. The countryside. The conversations. The pleasure of a good meal with a good glass of wine.
Because wine is never just about what's in the bottle.
It's about the people, the places and the memories.
Our 2027 Grape Wine Club is now open for orders, with 12 Italian wines, 12 recipes and a collection of stories and tasting notes to accompany them.
All 12 bottles arrive together, so you can enjoy them month by month or throw our suggested calendar completely out of the window.
We won't tell!
Life is Grape... even when you're not in Tuscany!
Cheers,
Rebecca & Pierre
