Private Chianti Classico Tour

Begin your day exploring the northern reaches of the Chianti Classico region, stretching from Greve in Chianti, the organic wine district of Panzano in Chianti and down towards Radda or Castellina in Chianti.

Your first stop is a winery we’ve carefully selected for its history, character, and stunning setting—where wine culture meets breathtaking views. Enjoy a guided visit through the vineyards and cellar, learning about the local grape varieties, terroir, and winemaking traditions that define Chianti Classico.

The visit concludes with a relaxed, seated tasting of the winery’s current releases. All wineries we visit offer their wines for purchase at estate prices, with convenient shipping options available.

For lunch, enjoy the iconic tasting menu of Dario Cecchini's family recipes at his renowned restaurant Solociccia, perfectly paired with local wines. Alternatively, choose a three-course lunch at a winery accompanied by additional wine tastings. You may also opt for a gourmet lunch at a local restaurant offering a tasting menu with a wine-pairing.

In the afternoon, take time to explore Greve in Chianti, famous for its picturesque main square, artisan shops, and inviting cafés.

The day ends with a second winery visit—either a classic Chianti producer or a more contemporary estate—rounding out the experience with another perspective on the region’s wines.

Extra pick-up fees are generally 100 euro (per tour, not per person) within 40 km of Florence, and up to 200 euro for distances up to 80 km from Florence.

There are signs of viticulture going back to the Etruscans (3000 yrs ago).

Chianti Classico was one of the first wine regions to be regulated back in 1716.

The main grape variety is the red Sangiovese, but there are also many other native grapes (Canaiolo, Colorino, Malvasia Nera, etc) and international grapes that were planted since the 70'ies such as Cabernets, Merlot, Syrah...

White grapes are Trebbiano & Malvasia Bianca.

The region is home to Chianti Classico DOCG (including Riserva and Gran Selezione) and also to delicious sweet Vin Santo wines. Super Tuscans are also common (Montevertine, Flaccianello, Tignanello, Solaia...)
