The Super Chianti experience is an unforgettable day trip that transports you from Florence into the heart of the charming Chianti and Chianti Classico regions.

We begin at the Grape Tours office, where you’ll check in and meet your Grape guide for the day. A scenic 45-minute drive brings us deep into the rolling hills of Chianti. Along the way, your English-speaking guide will share fascinating insights into Tuscany’s rich wine history and explain how Italy’s wine designation system works, setting the stage for the tastings ahead.

Our first stop is an ancient Tuscan farmhouse winery, where you’ll explore the entire grape-to-bottle process. After learning about the craft behind the wines, you’ll enjoy a seated guided tasting of four delicious wines, paired with the winery’s own award-winning olive oil and artisanal sheep’s milk cheeses produced on-site. Your guide will walk you through the tasting, sharing how to properly taste, pair, and appreciate each wine.

We then continue to Panzano in Chianti, home of the legendary butcher Dario Cecchini (featured on Chef’s Table Season 6, Episode 2). Here, you’ll enjoy a family-style lunch at Dario’s renowned restaurant. The menu features five of his signature meat dishes, including a taste of authentic Tuscan-style grilled steak, accompanied by fresh vegetables, Tuscan beans, and Dario’s rustic fiasco-style local red wine. To finish, savor a delicious olive oil cake, with the option of an Italian coffee for the perfect ending.

In the afternoon, we visit a second boutique winery, this time in the heart of the Chianti Classico black rooster region. Here, you’ll enjoy a private tasting of four carefully selected wines, giving you the chance to compare and contrast with the morning’s tasting.
