CHEESE LOVER'S TOUR

Did you know that Italy is the country of 1,000 cheeses—if not more?!

Cheese has long been a cornerstone of Italy’s rural culture, born out of the necessity to preserve milk. The country’s diverse landscapes, from rolling pastures to rugged mountains, have shaped its rich cheesemaking traditions.

In the north, cow’s milk cheeses dominate, while central and southern Italy are known for their flavorful sheep’s milk varieties. Meanwhile, buffalo and goat cheeses add even more variety, scattered throughout the regions.

Cheese in Italian is Formaggio, and just like the well-known French word Fromage, the root of the word is from the shape that it's made into after curds are pressed together to, well, form the cheese.

Please notice that due to milking being seasonal, this tour is only available April-August.
