I Fabbri

CHIANTI CLASSICO

High above Greve in Chianti, in the breathtaking hills of Lamole, I Fabbri is one of Chianti Classico's true hidden gems. Owned by the Grassi family since 1620, the estate has been cared for by eleven generations before being lovingly revived by Susanna Grassi, who returned to her ancestral home at the turn of the millennium with a vision of restoring the family's winemaking tradition. Today, I Fabbri is widely regarded as one of the finest interpreters of the unique Lamole terroir.

The estate's vineyards sit between 550 and 650 metres above sea level on ancient stone terraces overlooking the valley. Here, cool temperatures, constant mountain breezes and poor sandstone soils produce Sangiovese of extraordinary elegance, freshness and aromatic complexity. Farmed organically since 2009, the vineyards are cultivated entirely by hand, while the wines are made with indigenous yeasts and minimal intervention, allowing the character of Lamole to shine through in every bottle.

Production is deliberately small—around 35,000 bottles each year—and every wine reflects Susanna's philosophy of combining four centuries of family heritage with a deep respect for nature. Her Chianti Classicos are celebrated for their finesse, floral aromas and vibrant acidity, making them some of the most distinctive wines of the denomination.

A visit to I Fabbri offers far more than a tasting. It's an opportunity to meet one of Chianti Classico's most passionate winemakers, explore the spectacular terraces of Lamole, and experience how history, family tradition and exceptional terroir come together to create wines of remarkable purity and elegance.
