Fattoria Ispoli

CHIANTI CLASSICO

Nestled among the rolling hills of Mercatale Val di Pesa, just outside Florence, Fattoria Ispoli is a charming organic estate where history, family and sustainability come together in perfect harmony. The property dates back to at least the 16th century and was once owned by the Machiavelli family, whose coat of arms can still be seen on the historic farmhouse. Built around the remains of a 13th-century watchtower, the estate offers a fascinating glimpse into Tuscany's rich agricultural heritage.

Today, the estate is run by a passionate family team led by German siblings Marian and Mareike Mattheis together with their Italian winemaker, Francesco Palombi. Their philosophy is simple: produce authentic organic wines that express the character of Chianti Classico while preserving the landscape for future generations. The vineyards are cultivated organically, biodiversity is encouraged throughout the estate, and every bottle reflects a careful balance between tradition and modern winemaking.

Visitors are welcomed into the peaceful courtyard of the ancient fattoria before descending into the atmospheric medieval barrel cellar, where centuries of history meet contemporary craftsmanship. Tastings are relaxed and personal, offering not only elegant Chianti Classico wines and estate-produced olive oil, but also the warm hospitality that makes small family wineries so memorable.

A visit to Fattoria Ispoli is about much more than wine. It's an opportunity to experience a living piece of Tuscan history, where ancient stone walls, organic vineyards and genuine family passion combine to create an unforgettable Chianti Classico experience.
