The property dates back to at least the 16th century and was once owned by the Machiavelli family, whose coat of arms can still be seen on the historic farmhouse. Built around the remains of a 13th-century watchtower, the estate offers a fascinating glimpse into Tuscany's rich agricultural heritage.

Today, the estate is run by a passionate family team led by German siblings Marian and Mareike Mattheis together with their Italian winemaker, Francesco Palombi. Their philosophy is simple: produce authentic organic wines that express the character of Chianti Classico while preserving the landscape for future generations. The vineyards are cultivated organically, biodiversity is encouraged throughout the estate, and every bottle reflects a careful balance between tradition and modern winemaking.
