Jonathan Auerbach and Jessika Hegewisch fell in love with L'Orcio a Ca' Di Pesa during their honeymoon in 1998 and soon after decided to make it their own. Nestled in the rolling hills of Panzano in Chianti, this small farm is now home to their boutique winery, producing exceptional wines within the Chianti Classico DOCG appellation.
The estate’s vineyards thrive on soils with the ideal balance of clay and the distinctive ‘pietraforte’ of Panzano, providing the perfect foundation for their carefully cultivated grapes—Sangiovese, Colorino, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wines are vinified in a historic cellar, once a lemon house, preserving the essence of tradition while embracing modern techniques.
Though the winery’s portfolio is small, each bottle is crafted with dedication and quality. Diego, the estate’s winemaker and true ‘factotum,’ welcomes visitors to share the story of L'Orcio a Ca' Di Pesa, guide them through the cellar, and lead tastings that showcase everything from their Chianti Classico to their Supertuscans, as well as their exceptional extra virgin olive oil.
