The wines of Bergerac bear a striking resemblance to Bordeaux wines, crafted from the same grape varieties (Cabernet-Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet-Franc for reds, Sauvignon, and Sémillon for whites) and adopting a similar style along the scenic Dordogne river. Much like the sweet botrytis wines of Sauternes, Monbazillac produces its own delightful versions.
