INFO ON TAKING WINE HOME
While you are on your wine tour you may fall in love with some wines and want to take them home. You can surely travel with wine, but make sure to pack safely in your check-in luggage. Getting a "WineSkin" will ensure you against breakage (we sell them for 4 euros at Formaggioteca Terroir). Make sure you know your country’s rules on taking wine back home – every country has different rules. E.g. Canada allows up to 2 bottles per person, US 2 bottles without declaring – beyond that declare them at Customs, within Europe, there are no limits. Should you prefer, we also sell some of the wines (and others) that you might find at the wineries that you can pick up in our shop in Florence or purchase online for shipping here.
INFO ON SHIPPING FROM WINERIES
Shipping wine is a painless way to receive the wines you loved the most. There are several shipping companies that offer shipping of wine in Tuscany (MBE, Logistics, etc.). Standard prices are around 10 euro per bottle but can vary slightly from one company to another, the destination and the quantity shipped – the best deal is usually for the case of 12 bottles).
Each winery offers to ship wines directly to guests. Many offer a price list “to go” and another “shipping included” where the price of the wine includes the shipping cost. The minimum volume to be shipped tends to be 6 bottles.
Standard time is usually around 4-5 weeks (Europe, of course, is faster).
Many shipping companies have restrictions on where they don’t ship (e.g. Canada, etc.), so do ask at each winery as they may work with different shipping companies.
