Rhone from the North to the South

a Grapetrotters Adventure in June

Over the course of five full days, we will trace the course of the Rhône River from Lyon to Marseille, immersing ourselves in the exploration of iconic producers and savoring the richness of French cuisine. The Rhône Valley unveils a diverse tapestry of grape varieties, soils, and wine styles, including white, sparkling, rosé, red, and fortified wines, all accompanied by a vast array of regional food traditions.

Our initial focus will be on the Northern Rhône region for two days, characterized by its continental climate and vineyards of Syrah and Viognier lining the Rhône River. Subsequently, we will dedicate three days to the Southern Rhône, centered around Avignon, where we will visit various Crus such as Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Côtes-du-Rhône village AOCs.

Sunday, June 8 - 2025

ARRIVAL IN LYON, Lyon-Saint Exupery Airport.

Our rendezvous is set at Lyon Center, and from there, we embark on a direct journey through the picturesque Rhône Valley!

Upon arrival, check-in awaits you at our luxurious 4-star hotel in Condrieu, nestled in the Northern Rhône Valley.

Conclude the day with a delightful welcome dinner hosted at the hotel.

Monday, June 9 - 2025

COTE-ROTIE, CONDRIEU & SAINT JOSEPH

The itinerary includes visits to renowned producers like Guigal at Château d'Ampuis, Vernay in Condrieu, and Coursodon in Saint Joseph.

Indulge in a delightful lunch at one of the wineries.

Afterward, check-in at our winery resort in Tain l'Hermitage.

Conclude the day with a satisfying dinner at the winery resort.

CROZES-HERMITAGE, CORNAS & SAINT-PERAY

The itinerary features visits to iconic producers such as Chapoutier, Clappe, and Combier.

Savor a delightful lunch at Maison Chabran.

En route to Avignon and the Southern Rhône, we'll make a stop in Saint-Peray to enjoy a glass of sparkling wine.

TAVEL & CHATEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE

To commence our day and invigorate our palate, we'll embark on a visit to a small producer in the exclusive AOC known for its 100% rosé wines: Tavel AOC.

Subsequently, the remainder of the day will be immersed in the vineyards of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, exploring iconic producers like Famille Perrin and Chateau Mont-Redon.

Indulge in a delightful lunch at one of the wineries.

Retire for the night in our boutique hotel in Avignon.

The evening is yours to enjoy at leisure in Avignon.

Thursday, June 12 - 2025

GIGONDAS, CAIRANNE & RASTEAU

Our exploration will persist, delving into the intricacies and variety of GSM blends shaped by their distinct origins and terroirs.

Our journey will lead us to visit three AOC Crus – AOC Gigondas, AOC Cairanne, and AOC Rasteau, where we'll experience both red wines and fortified wines, all set against the stunning backdrop of the Dentelles de Montmirail.

Enjoy a delightful lunch at a renowned bistro in Vaison-la-Romaine.

Retreat for the night in our boutique hotel in Avignon.

The evening is yours to relish freely in Avignon.

Friday, June 13 - 2025

MONT-VENTOUX & LUBERON

Mont-Ventoux, a renowned peak standing at 6273 feet / 1912 m and made famous by the Tour de France, also holds the distinction of being the largest producer among the seven "other" AOCs. Our visit to a boutique winery will provide insights into the influence of Mont-Ventoux on GSM blends.

Savor a delightful lunch at a local bistro.

In the afternoon, we'll immerse ourselves in the sunniest region in France: Lubéron, indulging in a wine-tasting session at Marrenon with the head winemaker.

Retire for the night at our boutique hotel in Avignon.

Conclude your journey with a memorable final dinner in Avignon.
