Vernaccia is the grape that "kisses, licks, bites, heats, and stings" according to Michelangelo. Today Tuscany's only certified DOCG wine it is being produced very well by the young couple Flavia & Francesco who do an excellent job with the whites, working completely organically. At Cappella Sant’Andrea they work organically to produce the best wines. This Vernaccia wine is fresh with a taste of citrus and green apples. The Vernaccia grape is local to the San Gimignano area and is Tuscany’s most famous white wine.
