The grapes for this lovely well-balanced come from the highest-lying vineyard where the soil is vulcanic. It is basically a mini-Amarone as some of the grapes are dried and then added to the wine during aging, giving it a lovely deepness and complexity that characterizes the best wines of Valpolicella.
