Cava d'Onice - winery in Montalcino

Simone followed in the footsteps of his father who worked as a cellarmaster for other wineries around Montalcino. Cava d’Onice became their own family project and is today run entirely inside the family mainly by Simone and his wife Lucia. The vineyards lie high above the Orcia valley, a short distance from the town walls of Montalcino. It developed from a tiny garage winery, to a very proper boutique farm with high quality equipment to produce the high end wines of Montalcino. As most other wineries in Montalcino, the production is focused on the iconic Brunello di Montalcino, but also Rosso di Montalcino and a nice refreshing rosé is produced.
