Castello Tricerchi

MONTALCINO

Just north of Montalcino, Castello Tricerchi is one of the region's most historic estates, where nearly nine centuries of history continue to shape the present. The castle has belonged to the noble Tricerchi family since the 12th century, their emblem of three interlocking circles still symbolising one of Siena's oldest aristocratic dynasties. Today, the estate remains both a family home and a working winery, preserving an extraordinary sense of continuity between past and present.

At the helm is Tommaso Squarcia, who represents a new generation of Brunello producers. While embracing modern knowledge and sustainable vineyard practices, Tommaso remains deeply committed to the traditional style of Brunello di Montalcino—one that values elegance, balance and longevity over power and extraction. His philosophy is to let the exceptional terroir speak through the wines, producing authentic expressions of Sangiovese that honour both the estate's history and the unique character of Montalcino.

A visit to Castello Tricerchi is unlike visiting a conventional winery. Guests wander through the castle's historic rooms, courtyards and ancient cellars, where centuries-old architecture creates an atmosphere that feels almost untouched by time. The estate's peaceful vineyards, surrounding woodland and panoramic views complete the experience, offering a glimpse into a side of Tuscany where history remains very much alive.

Castello Tricerchi is a place where heritage, family and fine wine come together effortlessly. With Tommaso's passion guiding the next chapter of this remarkable estate, every bottle and every visit offer a beautiful balance between medieval history and the enduring traditions of Brunello di Montalcino.
