The winery:
Le Chiuse is situated on the northern slopes of Montalcino. The vineyards used to be owned by the famous "inventor" of Brunello di Montalcino, Biondi-Santi, and was destined for the Riserva wine. Today the farm is run by Lorenzo, the great grand son of Ferruccio, and an amazing winemaker. The farm is organic and with Lorenzo's perseverence for producing traditional high-quality Brunello, the wines are receiving every possible award.
 
The wine:
Made from 100% Sangiovese like all Brunello wines must. The elegance of the mouthfeel is due to the miticulous selection of ripe grapes and the long ageing in large Slavonian oak barrels. The is complex with flavors of ripe red fruits, sweet spices and some tirtiary truffle flavors. Brunellos are usually best around 10-15 yrs of age so this is coming into its prime time!
