We are proud to be the first approved program provider in Italy for the Italian Wine Scholar certification program by the Wine Scholar Guild.
​
The Italian Wine Scholar is a two-part certification course with examinations at the end of each unit, designed for all advanced students of wine, whether wine professionals or serious wine enthusiasts. Students achieving a combined score of 75 or greater on Unit I, and Unit II exams will be awarded the internationally prestigious title of Italian Wine Scholar and may use the post-nominal, IWS.

The courses in each of the two units cover Italian wine law, history & geography, grape varieties, viticulture, winemaking, wine industry trends, and economics, and all DOCs and DOCGs with their regulations, wine styles, and specificities. This core body of knowledge is important whether you sell wine, buy wine, or teach about wine. The IWS program allows wine professionals to set themselves apart from their peers by specializing in the wines of Italy. It’s a great resource and supplement for students of wine moving toward advanced and general wine study programs.

Unit 1 Bootcamp: Northern Italy
Dates: November 5-7 2024, Exam on the morning of the 8th.

Cost of complete Unit 1 program book & wines inclusive 995 euro
All tuition is in English.
Max 8 students per session
Wines in tasting depend on attendance from 15 (if only 4 pp join the course) to 30 (if 8 pp join the course).
Travel to and from Florence and accommodation not included (nearest hotel: Hotel Silla)​
