Ciao, I'm Matteo Pratesi

Tall, blond with blue eyes – not the typical Italian appearance, right? But, in reality, I'm a native Florentine with a few passions I'd love to share with you.

I'm half Italian and half Austrian, inheriting my love for food and wine from my Italian grandfather. Since 2014, I've held the title of Sommelier (AIS), and my love for cooking and, naturally, eating, complements this role. Besides, playing rugby ensures I don't mind putting on a bit of weight!

​

Growing up bilingual with Italian and German, I later embraced French and Spanish. For a stretch, I resided in Bordeaux, France, delving deeper into the world of wine and, of course, my second-greatest passion – cheese!

Since 2017, I've been working as a wine tour guide in Florence. I adore my job, meeting people from all corners of the globe, and savoring some of Tuscany's finest wines – all while getting paid; truly amazing!

Currently, I reside in the hills of Florence with my beautiful and remarkably patient wife, along with my little sweet daughter Giulia and her best friend, our Labrador Margaux.
