Castles in the Chianti region
The
Chianti Castles are old beautiful residences of the nobles of Tuscany of the
15 and 16-hundreds. Today many of them are private residences and some are
also operating as wineries. Castles are not always easy to access and often
you need prior appointments and reservations.
During our day visiting the Chianti Castles we will visit two of them, 1 from the inside, with a tour of the castle and possibly the old cellars where wine has been stored for decades.
You will hear the stories of the noble families of Tuscany and of the history of Tuscany in general.
We will arrange for wine tastings at the castles as well, and if you like it
is possible to arrange for a lunch at one of the castles (please see the
prices below) which is a really special experience.

Prices are in
Euro (€) and include transportation in air-conditioned car/mini-van & winery
appointments and tastings. The excursions are usually around 8 hrs long, but can be less if
you wish.
Departure from either prearranged meeting points or your accommodation in, and
in between, or within the vicinities of Siena or Florence. N.B. These prices are
not inclusive of
lunch, but are inclusive of wine tastings at the castles.

On this one day tour, two visits to some of the most important wineries will be
organized, such as:
Castello di Meleto, Castello Paneretta, Castello di Brolio, Castello di
Monsanto, Castello di Fonterutoli, etc.
